Systems architect
We are looking for a lead Systems Architect to strengthen our Research and Development team where we are establishing a Systems Architecting function. For this position, we are looking for a person who wants to play a crucial role in the conceptualization, design, and integration of our experimental platform systems leading the way to a viable commercial fusion reactor design.

Responsibilities
Your initial responsibilities would include (but not limited to) the following:
Lead the system design work together with sub-system architects, application specialists and technology domain specialists and in this work being the promoter of capturing opportunities for innovation
Drive the balancing of system requirements between different sub-systems in a way to ensure the overall roadmap requirements are fulfilled
Oversee the definition of interfaces to enable needed modularization
Drive and take an active part in system integration and verification
Take an active part in forming the Systems Architecting team and continue to develop our way of working within Systems Engineering and system documentation to fulfill stakeholder requirements

Knowledge, skills and experience
We believe you have the following qualifications:
Industrial experience from a similar role for advanced systems involving multiple technology disciplines, e.g. within Scientific Instrument Systems, Aerospace Systems or Capital Equipment Systems
PhD or Masters in Physics,
Engineering, or a related field
Education in Systems Engineering
Strong understanding of system architecture, integration, and optimization
Proficiency in simulation and modeling tools
Experience from Integration Driven Development and of working hands-on with integration, integration testing and verification
Experience and skills from working in teams of different experts and balance requirements and design solutions between different domains and applications
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
Excellent English oral and writing skills for working with our international team
Information about the position
Location: Stockholm, flexible hybrid office but with majority of time on site divided between office and lab sites
Starting as soon as possible
Permanent, full-time position
